Pelvic Health Resources

Sometimes the right help is hard to find. At Core 3,  we are pelvic floor specialists that care about improving your symptoms during the time you are our patient, as well as giving you the tools to maintain your progress at home and throughout your life. There is so much information floating around whether found on the internet, seen on tv, or heard from a friend about various types of pelvic floor dysfunctions and disorders. It can be hard to know what is right or who to listen to!

To help guide you through everything that is out there, we have compiled a list of resources that the pelvic floor experts at Core 3 frequently use to incorporate into home programs for patients and as adjuncts to treatment in the clinic. It is still recommended that if you are experiencing urinary dysfunction or incontinence, pelvic pain, prolapse, or any other related symptoms, that you first be seen by a pelvic floor physical therapist for an evaluation to determine what resources would be most appropriate for you.

  • FemFusionFitness-Safe exercises for anyone with current or post pelvic floor or abdominal dysfunction
    • This youtube channel is hosted by physical therapist “Dr. Bri.” She has a wide variety of videos that show you how to keep proper core activation while performing various  types of strengthening exercises. She is a big advocate on doing what is safe for your body and modifying exercises to be able to perform them without risk of injury.
  • Lift Series- series of videos to improve pelvic organ prolapse
    • This series is done by Dr. Bri of FemFusionFitness
  • The Vagina Whisperer- Instagram account about general pelvic health
    • This account is run by Dr. Sara Reardon, a Pelvic Floor PT in New Orleans who owns her own practice called Nola Pelvic Health. Her posts are great for new moms, women experiencing prolapse or anyone interested in learning more about pelvic health!
  • The Radioactive Ironman- Steve Cooper is the author of this book, he is a prostate cancer survivor and active athlete. He completed ironman races during his chemo treatment and continues to compete in them today. His story is very inspirational and he even has a link to his youtube channel where he demonstrates some pelvic floor exercises that he includes in his training.

These are just a few good resources that we have come across in our searches that we have found to be helpful and reliable. Again there is a lot out there and we hope that starting with some of these as guides can make your pelvic health journey a little bit more clear!
